(Nov 20) FREE Africa Business & Funding Networking Events – worldwide

Another amazing FREE networking opportunity in several cities across the globe is coordinated by the renowned African crowdfunding organization VC4A. What a great opportunity to connect with like-minded people and potentially do business – you can even organize your own networking event in your city! Here are some details:

On Thursday the 20th of November VC4Africa members all across the world are bringing together local entrepreneurs, angels and VC investors building great companies in Africa. This year VC4Africa GEW meetup attendees can join a crowd funding campaign for African innovation, and African entrepreneurs can apply to get their business pilot funded!

On the evening of Thursday, November 20th, the VC4Africa community will host a global dialogue on African entrepreneurship and investment as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2014. Last year we were able to attract 2000 people at meetups in 26 cities in 20 countries. This year meetups have already been confirmed in Accra, Addis Ababa, Amsterdam, Benoni, Blantyre, Buea, Cairo, Harare, Kampala, Lagos, Los Angeles, Nairobi, New York, Nuremberg, San Francisco, and many more are in the works! See the list of confirmed meetups to check if there’s already a meetup organized in your city, and if not, please sign up to help host one! All meetups are hosted by local VC4Africa members.

And here are some additional links I selected for you, Paul, that may help you advance your endeavor. One of my guest bloggers was Tunde from Nigeria, and I had chats in person with him – here is what he said (it’s in one of my early blog posts)

“Tunde Felix Ogunde ran operations for Burger King in the UK over a period of several years, before he decided to return back to Nigeria. He opened QSR Consult, a consultancy around restaurant businesses in Africa.

He recently also started to produce tomatoes in green house environments and told us that after just 8 weeks he received over $200,000 in investment. Right now the demand for his high-quality tomatoes, which meet certain standards during production and delivery, is so high that he cannot keep up with the supply. So he is expanding his green house production plans.

Tunde told me, he is not processing or branding the tomatoes in any way, and they are still an absolute hit.”

Here is another post with Tunde:
